The short version
You can read this site without an account and without telling us anything. If you make an account we keep your email address and what you saved. We use analytics to see which pages are read. We do not sell anything about you to anybody.
What is collected without an account
Standard web request data — IP address, browser, the page requested, and the page you came from — is processed to serve the page and to keep the site working. Analytics tags record which pages are visited and roughly where in the world from, in aggregate. None of it identifies you by name.
What is collected with an account
Your name, email address and a hashed password — the password itself is never stored and cannot be recovered from what is. If you sign in with Google or GitHub we receive your name, email address and profile picture from them, and store an identifier linking the two accounts. We also keep the tools you save, the categories you follow, and what you have read, because those are the account.
Who else sees data
Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (page analytics), Microsoft Clarity (aggregate interaction recording), Microsoft Advertising (conversion measurement), Google AdSense (advertising), Brevo (sending email you asked for), and Hostinger (hosting). Each receives only what it needs to do that job. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else except where the law requires it.
If you join the newsletter — through the form, or by leaving the box ticked when you create an account — we keep your address to send it. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is remembered permanently: creating another account later will not put you back on the list.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links to tools carry a referral code. Following one tells the destination that you arrived from here; it does not tell them who you are, and it does not send them anything from your account.
How long things are kept
Account data is kept until you delete the account. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, and then the record of the unsubscribe is kept indefinitely — that is what stops you being added back. Analytics data is kept according to each provider’s own retention setting.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and we will do it. If you are in the UK, EU, or a jurisdiction with comparable law, those rights are yours by statute; we apply them to everybody regardless.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who sees it, the date below changes and the change is described rather than silently applied.
